I completed this website in the Spring of 2011. The client (an art major in college) wanted a site that would catch the eye of his target audience, young lacrosse players. This site required a good deal of work with Flash and I learned quite a bit while completing this site. The look of the site is almost 100% the client’s vision. In the end he was happy with the site and has told me that he has received many compliments on it.

I completed this website in the Fall of 2010. The client wanted a clean, simple site that focused on her work samples. She had strong ideas on how the site should look and what content she wanted to include. The result is a website that will not look “dated” anytime soon and will be easy for her to add content and update as necessary.

Business Cards!

Had some new business cards made. They feature color on both sides with a matte finish. Of course I got rounded corners (the images below are cropped)! The good people at www.printprintprint.biz printed them up for me. They really cannot be beat as far as bang for the buck goes.

2010 Music for Massey Poster

This is the fourth poster that I have done for Music for Massey. The event is starting to really take off. This year it has moved to the snagajob.com Pavilion and will feature Chris Isaak. The concert benefits the VCU Massey Cancer Center.

2008 VADA Brochure

This is the first brochure that I designed for VADA. Currently I am working on this year’s which will be my third. No matter which way your political views lean, an old U.S. flag will stir some emotion. That is what makes it such an effective design element. One quarter of the brochure may appear upside down, however these were folded into quarters and mailed to members. So, when in the mail it would appear right side up.

The people I work with at the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys are great and have a sense of humor about their work which I think is often reflected in the work that I do for them. All Tomorrow’s Parties (Film)

After viewing the first 10 minutes of this movie, I went out and bought it the next day. The Battles provided the perfect intro and I was hooked.

First the bad, I wanted more footage of Belle & Sebastian and Mogwai and less Nick Cave is always appreciated. Also, this movie, whether intentional or not, feels like an homage to indie music and its fans. I consider myself to be a fan and therefore do not have a problem with this. However, it is difficult to imagine anybody who does not like these bands enjoying this movie at all.

Now the good, the footage in this movie was shot by the fans and it really captures the festival well. You get the performances, the drunks, the venue, Daniel Johnston and a pissed off David Cross. In short, this film is a celebration not only of All Tomorrow’s Parties, but of a tribe of people to whom music is a big part of their lives. I quickly got into the movie and turned up the volume and wished I had spent some money on surround sound. Much like pizza, even when it was bad it was still good, because it had a celebratory vibe running throughout which was contagious. I enjoyed the film and the extras in their entirety. No, I did not skip over Nick Cave, even though the guy sucks.

After viewing All Tomorrow’s Parties, I’ve noticed that I check tour dates a little more often, I play the iPod a little louder and think about music just a little bit more. Basically, the movie acted as a motivational seminar on music.
